The
Alhambra in Granada is
a very popular place to visit by our summer guests. It takes just 2
hours to drive to Granada along
the Almeria to
Sevilla motorway. The motorway skirts around Granada and
the Alhambra car
park is easily accessed. There is a shuttle bus that takes you from the Alhambra direct
to the Plaza de Nueva where it’s a short walk to the Cathedral and Royal
Chapel. Entrance to the Alhambra can
be booked by telephone:

The Cabo
de Gata National Park is
one of the most beautiful and ecologically rich coastal strips in the
western Mediterranean and is
the first Natural land and sea park in Andalucia. The drive takes just
over an hour and the route down the mountain, via Nijar, is very
dramatic. The park offers walks on marked trails and tracks amongst
native scrub and grasses, amidst the scent of wild lemon balm and the
distinctive aromas of curry plant and herbs. You are able to follow
inland trails and coastline.
The City
of Almeria is
again just an hour away by car. The local bus travels from Lubrin to Almeriatwice
a day for the princely sum of Euros 7.00! Places to visit include the
Alcazaba, Cathedral and Cables Ingles which is a Victorian overhead
railway gantry that was used to transfer minerals from the railway
wagons to the port. There are a wealth of Bars and Restaurants as well
as shops and a splendid esplanade for walks along the sea front.
